College Grants Commission has given a rundown of 21 "so called, unnoticed foundations" which are working in negation of the UGC Act, that have been pronounced as phony colleges and isn't enabled to present any degree.
Upwards of eight establishments from the public capital have been named in the rundown of so called and unnoticed foundations.
"All India Institute of Public and Physical Health Sciences, Commercial University Ltd, United Nations University, Vocational University
As per the UGC, the second biggest number of phony colleges have been found in Uttar Pradesh with 4 such organizations.
The names of two organizations each from West Bengal and Odisha, one each from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh highlight in the rundown.
The University Grants Commission Act, 1956; under Section 22 specified that the right of giving or conceding degrees will be practiced simply by a University laid out or integrated by or under a Central Act
A Provincial Act or a State Act or an establishment considered to be a University under Section 3 or a foundation extraordinarily engaged by an Act of Parliament to present or concede degrees.
As indicated by the Commission, Section 23 of the UGC Act denies the utilization of the word 'College' by any organization other than a college laid out as expressed previously.
